My mother, who was no mean violinist, introduced me quite early to the idea of playing with other musicians. Accompanying, to use a now-outmoded word, came quite easily to me. I prefer it to solo playing. Chamber music has played a large part in my musical life. My love of language and text has led me to do more playing with singers than with instrumentalists but I am comfortable with both genres and even both genres together as in something like Ravel’s delicious Chansons madécasses.
I am happy to work with young musicians such as secondary school students for Solo and Ensemble contests as well as with seasoned professionals. Although located in the Indianapolis area, I am available to travel to other venues.
